obvs.ai offers a variety of consultancy and advisory services to small, medium and large scale businesses primarily in the hospitality, retail and leisure sectors.  Founded by Mark Fox, a recently retired senior executive with over 30 years experience in these sectors, 15 of those years as a Managing Director or CEO.

Mark has held board level positions at (amongst others) KFC, Pizza Hut, Starbucks, Bill's Restaurants, Restaurant Associates (part of the Compass Group) and Roadchef.  He has worked across operations, franchising, business development and general management and has been responsible for the management and sale of multiple businesses over the course of his highly successful career.

Mark decided to step back from executive life in 2024 but was keen to ensure his wealth of experience was made available to those who might benefit from it and that saw the creation of obsv.ai - a multi-service consultancy focused on the hospitality, retail and leisure space.

Mark has held multiple CEO positions across various businesses in the hospitality sector including leading Starbucks in the UK and running Roadchef, one of the largest motorway service area operators in the UK with food, beverage, hotel, gaming and other commercial income streams. His breadth of knowledge is unrivalled and his focus on running employee and customer centric businesses has delivered him significant success in his 30+ year career including the achievement of Investors in People Platinum accreditation.

Mark is a straightforward and open leader who firmly believes that hospitality is a unique sector which, done well, can deliver outstanding returns for shareholders, customers and employees alike. He is well-known for his friendly yet forthright style which gets to the nub of the issue quickly and finds creative ways to move forward whilst also enjoying the journey.

obsv.ai offers two distinct services.  Business Consultancy Services for the delivery of business advice and support and Coaching and Mentoring Services for the purposes of personal development and person specific support.  Both are available at attractive rates that won't break the bank and will yield significant value to the business or individual.

 

 

1. Consultancy Services 

Whatever your challenge or opportunity, there is every chance that obsv.ai can work for you.  Whether it is to uncover an issue, identify an opportunity, build a plan to improve your business or help you to refine and execute an existing plan.  A sample of the core obsv.ai offers is shown below but please get in touch for a bespoke proposal.

Observation

Active visit of your business during trading hours and unannounced with full and detailed observations in relation to asset, menu, service, pricing, food and beverage quality and overall proposition. Useful in benchmarking your business versus your perceptions and for highlighting opportunities and strengths. For those who want to see the true picture.

1 day rate

Insights

Typically following an observation session (although not always necessary).  The insights session enables you to share information about your business and have your proposition interrogated and analysed to identify opportunities to improve it and exploit strengths further.  If you need to decode an issue or uncover a strength this is the package for you.

Minimum 2 days

Activation

Once the opportunities and strengths have been identified you need a clear action plan and that has to be executed with rigour and discipline and that is where obsv.ai can really help.  Working alongside you and your team, the required changes can be executed to your satisfaction with the full support of obsv.ai.  Support can extend as long as you require it.

Minimum 5 days

2. Coaching & Mentoring Services

One Off / Ad Hoc

If you want to "try before you buy" then this introductory session, where the potential for a consultancy or coaching/mentoring opportunity can be explored, is ideal for you.  Up to 90 minutes of conversation based on a short pre-screening questionnaire will help you to determine whether a more formalised working relationship may be something you want to explore

Coaching Package

Six 1 hour sessions focused on a specific personal development opportunity agreed during the first meeting.  The six sessions should be completed in no more than six months and the frequency will be agreed during the first meeting.  Meetings can be face to face or virtual.  Additional sessions can be arranged as required with discounted rates for longer assignments.

2 x day rate

Mentoring Package

Your personal advisor available to discuss business or personal development opportunities or to simply act as a sounding board for your ideas.  Mentoring relationships are open ended and can be structured to suit the individual needs of the client.  They can be directly contracted by the client or contracted for one of the client's team

Entirely flexible packages including bespoke options tailored exactly to your needs.  The opportunity to have a seasoned business professional working alongside you and your team as little, or as much, as you need them will give you the confidence to know that your business is optimised. Running a business can be a lonely place but with obsv.ai by your side you will have an experienced sounding board who will provide you with honest real-time feedback and input to ensure your business fulfils its potential.

Rate Card

Rates will be agreed at the commencement of the assignment.  Longer assignments will attract a preferential hourly/day rate.

Discount

-5% for contracts between 4 and 8 days

-10% for contracts between 9 and 15 days

-20% for contracts between 16 and 25 days

Payment Terms

Invoices will be issued within 7 days of service delivery.  Payments should be made within 14 days of receipt of invoice

Bespoke terms

For Clients seeking longer term engagements, bespoke terms can be agreed with flexible payment terms and preferential rates.
